What is HRT, and what symptoms does it treat?
HRT is a treatment that supplements the body with the key hormones that decline with age and induce the beginning of the menopause transition. The main hormones used in HRT are estrogen and progesterone, but some treatments also use a hormone called dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA).
HRT is used to alleviate the many physical and mental symptoms associated with menopause – like hot flashes, night sweats, mood changes, and vaginal dryness.
